July Placement Program Graduates
Despite most things in the world being on hold, retired racing Thoroughbreds are still finding great new homes and careers. In July, two of our horses graduated the Placement Program and are thriving with aftercare charities.
If you'd like to help retired racehorses, please make a donation, and remember to follow along with our social media accounts for the month of August for our big fundraiser CARMAthon (8/22).
Fawree
Fawree is a perfect example of tall, dark and handsome. This six-year-old stunner joined the Placement Program in October 2019 after interesting racing career. Fawree turned heads as a youngster, selling for $240,000 as a two-year-old. He made his debut at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai and finished seventh in the UAE Derby. He returned to the States in 2018 and made his final race a winning one on August 17, 2019.
We were so fond of Fawree and his willingness, that we know he will have a great second career as a riding horse and friend. He is currently available for adoption from aftercare charity Win Place Home, Inc.
Kentucky Guy
This sweet Guy was quick to win over many hearts during his time in the Placement Program. While getting some rest and relaxation at the layup facility, he was used in a pony camp to teach young children about horses. Talk about a perfect ambassador for retired racehorses! Seeing what a natural he is with kids, we knew he would be a great fit for Square Peg Foundation, an aftercare charity specializing in helping children on the autism spectrum with equine assisted therapy.
