Uniting the Racing Community in Support of Retiring Racehorses
CARMAthon is an annual fundraising event dedicated to supporting the California Retirement Management Account (CARMA). CARMA provides essential funding for the aftercare of retired California racehorses..
Through 16 years of operation, CARMA has successfully placed over 425 horses through our Placement Program and awarded more than $5.8 million in grants to charity partners, which has helped countless other retiring racehorses receive the care and opportunities they deserve post-racing.
Read a few inspiring stories of our CARMAgrads below to see how your contributions make a difference. Each horse’s journey extends beyond their own transformation, benefiting their owners and communities as riding horses, companions, eventers, therapy animals, and more. Your support helps create these impactful relationships and new beginnings.
