Helping Retired Racehorses
As a service to Thoroughbred owners and trainers who need help retiring their racehorses, CARMA’s Placement Program is a safe way to transition the horse into the next phase of its life. Since its introduction, the program has assisted more than 400 horses and connected them to homes as equestrian mounts, therapeutic animals, and companions.
Funding Non-Profits
Since 2008, CARMA has granted over $5.4 million to non-profit organizations that retire, retrain and re-home Thoroughbreds that have raced at partnering tracks in California. To date, more than 4,500 horses have been helped through our grant process.
